PRP Hair Treatment

Platelet-rich plasma from your own blood, injected into the scalp to strengthen follicles and improve density over a course of sessions.

Ideal for. Early to moderate thinning, pattern hair loss, and hair fall linked to hormones, PCOS, pregnancy or stress.

Key benefit. Uses your own blood, a non-surgical way to reduce hair fall and improve thickness.

Overview

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy uses a small amount of your own blood. It is processed to concentrate the platelets, which are rich in growth factors, and injected into areas of thinning.

The growth factors help activate dormant follicles and prolong the growth phase of the hair cycle, improving density and thickness over time. PRP is used for both male and female pattern hair loss.

Questions

How many PRP sessions will I need?

Most people are advised 4 to 6 sessions, spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart, followed by maintenance sessions every 4 to 6 months. Your doctor sets the plan after examining your scalp.

Is PRP painful?

A numbing cream is applied first. Most people describe a mild pinching sensation during the injections.

Is PRP suitable for women?

Yes. It is used for female pattern hair loss, postpartum hair fall and hormonal thinning, including hair loss linked to PCOS.

Are there side effects?

Because PRP uses your own blood, allergic reactions are very unlikely. Minor redness or swelling can occur and usually settles within hours.

What is the difference between PRP and GFC?

Both use growth factors from your own blood. GFC is processed to isolate the growth factors without platelets, giving a more concentrated preparation. Your doctor will recommend the better option for your pattern of hair loss.
